PyNav is a display and control interface for marine NMEA instruments and the pypilot open-source autopilot. If you need help, the information below covers the most common situations.
Make sure your phone and the NMEA/pypilot gateway are on the same Wi-Fi network. Check the host IP and port in Settings → Connection. If your gateway only broadcasts over UDP, set the transport to UDP; if it is a direct TCP server (e.g. pypilot), use TCP.
This is expected. PyNav needs access to your local Wi-Fi network to reach your boat's instruments. Tap Allow when prompted. If you accidentally denied it, go to iOS Settings → PyNav → Local Network and enable it.
Go to Settings → Upgrade to PRO and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account used for the original purchase.
Force-close and reopen the app. If the problem persists, check that your gateway is still running and reachable on the network. You can also try toggling the connection off and on in Settings.
PyNav supports NMEA 0183 (UDP and TCP) and pypilot over TCP. Compatibility with other systems depends on their ability to send standard NMEA sentences. Contact us with your device model and we will help if possible.
